Total active manpower: 1.134.000 this number should decline to 1.000.000 in 2010
Paramilitary forces: 160.000, internal security(MVD) 240.000 border troops, 80000 federal security service.

Conscription: 12 months currently there is a 80/20% mixture of drafts /professionals.
This should be changed in 2010 to 25/75 %, allthough its not likely this figure can be made.

Defense budget: 3.209 billion Rubles over a three year period (2007-2010)

Structure:
Only land based systems are operated by the RVSN.
Current structure has 2 armies, the 27th( HQ Vladimir) and the 31st missile army (HQ Orenburg) they field 10 divisions.
These divisions have 13 SSBN's with a total of 208 SLBM's and 75 strategic bombers.
Note, START I and II are now longer relevant. However transparancy procedures established under START I will be maintained.

Total inventory: 4,279 warheads, these numbers should decline to 2200 by december 2012.
New plans call for a total of 50 % to be landbased systems and 25% sea and airlauchedsystems in the near future.

Thes bombers can cary gravity bombs but also the KH-55(AS-15) cruisemissile, together with about 852 warheads.
A new range of missiles is under construction to replace the Kh-55( Kh-101/102)
Strategic defense:
The A1 Galosh ABM network around Moscow has been extensively modified.( 36GORGON and 64 GAZELLE missiles)
The missiles nuclear warheads have been withdrawn and the network itself was reinforced with the new S-300 PMU and Antey-2500 (improved S-300V).
A new version the S-400 is being introduced into service.

Landforces

Personell: 800.000.

The landforces are formed by 6 militart districts.
These are joint operational commands, all services in a district fall under command of their respective districts.
The MD's have 4 army HQ and 8 Corps HQ's.
