Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. So, Australia is coming off the 60s and going towards the 80s:

On DEC 3, 2010, the RAAF fleet of F-111s will be decomissioned and replaced by F-18 Hornets.

I will post a memorial for this sexy aircraft on the date it happens, here just a vid that relates it to its Vietnam part of operational history (it has actually a valid operational history til 1999) via music:

I never worked with (nor saw) any of these during my tour of duty.

I didn't know Australia still flew the F-111 given the number that have embedded themselves in the New Zealand landscape I figured they would have run out by now.

They did, and they are the last:

The RAAF has been the sole operator of the F-111 since 1998, when the U.S. Air Force retired its F-111s from service.

Picture proof: 4 RAAF F-111s in 2006 according to Wikipedia (which of cause is always right):

I saw a camouflaged one at a NATO exercise I participated in early 90's.... 1 F-111 amongst fighters as F-4 and F-16...strange, sexy beast (does remind I really should get a digitalizer for picture negatives)
