Finland
Finland bought additional RBS-70 ground based airdefense systems from Saab.
The order is expected to be worth $26 million.
Delivery is scheduled for early 2011.

Korea
FN Herstal (Belgium) has been recently awarded with a contract from the Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) to supply axially mounted HMP250 gun pods for the KO-1 trainer aircraft programme.
FN's HMP250 features a 12.7mm M3P mg and a 250 round ammo box.

Pakistan
The US Department of Defense has announced plans to provide Pakistan with 12 SHADOW UAV systems to enhance its ISR capabilities in the fight against the Taliban in the border provences.

Germany
The German federal office of defense technology and procurement has awarded EADS defense and security an order for delivery of a conversion of the MOWAG EAGLE IV carriers into ambulances for use by German ISAF troops in Afghanistan.
The new ambulance is able to carry lying casualties together with a medical staff and crew.
It will be designated Bat: Beweglicher Artztrupp (mobile medical unit).

Egypt
Egypt has selected the Pratt and Whitney F100 PW-229 Engine enhancement package for its new fleet of 24 F-16 c/d block 52 aircraft.
The deal is named peace vector VII, the deal sold through the US foreign military sales office is worth $150 million.
Engines are scheduled to be delivered during the 2011-12 timeframe.

Spain
The ministry of interior has placed an order for the purchase of 12 EUROCOPTER EC135 P2i helicopters, 6 will go the Spanish Police and 6 will be equipped for mountain rescue missions (SAR).
Deliveries will start late this year with the final helo to be delivered in 2012.
Spanish police and Guardia Civil are already operating with 7 EC135 helos.
An option is placed for 2 more helos bringing the total up to 51.

India
The Indian defense aquisition counsil has decided to procure 6 additional AKASH surface to air missile squadrons for the Indian air force.
There are already 2 squadrons operational with 125 missiles each.
The decision reverses an earlier proposal to disband the programme.

Interesting stuff.
The KO-1 I hope will prove to be a good COIN aircraft.
