Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. “We are going to the Security Council. We need to have full membership in the United Nations…we need a state, and we need a seat at the UN,” Abbas told Palestinians in a televised speech on September 16.

I have witten a slightly lengthy article on my stance about that move at another forum, want to share it here and hear what the forumites takes on the Palestinian move are.

I think the move is the only one left to the Palestinians, if they allow the current process to continue they will have nothing left to negotiate for as Israel is determined to colonise as much as they can under the pretext of negotiating and I fully agree with the Palestinian argument that peace talks can not resume until Israel stops it settlement building on occupied lands.

I am convinced that the reason Israel is opposed to this is because that once the borders of Palestine are recognised in the UN Israeli expansionism will have to end.
