A soldier's story: Rare images of Vietnam War

Charlie Haughey was drafted to the US Army in 1967. After arriving in Vietnam in 1968 he served a tour of duty as a rifleman and was commissioned to take photos of the battalion for Army and civilian newspapers. These powerful images provide a unique and previously unseen view into the war and life in the U. S. Army. Haughey shot nearly 2.000 photos from  March 1968 to May 1969 and put the negatives in boxes, where they lay dormant for 45 years.
