Title: NSDAP Membership Dues Stamps
Post by: Alan65 on 25 September 2009, 22:22:24
These stamps appear to be party membership dues stamps and the black one mentions 'license fees for books'.  I assume one would have to buy these for various purposes and get them stamped (these are all unused) for official party books, paperwork, etc.

Indeed, you got that right: "Parteibeitrag" = party member fee, my guess is those were glued into the party member book. Interesting to see that membership fees dropped with the years.

The 2nd "Buchausfertigung" refers to the price for the party book.

of course, you may! (I should have mentioned it.)  It's interesting to note that the colors and values are different within the same year; I wonder if you could pay more depending on your position or rank within the party.  The values range from 3.9RM (Reichsmarks), 5.9RM, 9.9RM, 12.9RM and 15.9 on the quarterly dues stamps; the smaller have 1.5, 2, 5 and 6 RM values on the left and a "--.30" on the right.  The selvage (white non-stamp part of the paper shown on the 1.5 value stamp) has "54.00" printed on it--probably they came in sheets with a total value of 54 RM (36 stamps in this case? I'm not sure what the .30 RM has to do with it, probably a surcharge.)

Here are some links, btw, discussing what these dues meant to the average German (who may or may not have been a member of the Party.)
