Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Total War

Quote
Empire: Total War is an upcoming 2009 real-time tactics and turn-based strategy computer game. Developed by the Creative Assembly and published by Sega, the game is scheduled for release on 6 February 2009. Announced in August 2007,[3] Empire: Total War is the fifth installment in the Total War series, and focuses on the modern era period of the 1700s and 1800s.[4] The game follows a similar style of play as earlier Total War titles: players choose a contemporary faction and set out to ensure their faction's domination over the known world through military force, politics, diplomacy, espionage and economics. Although the campaign element of the game is turn-based, players can direct battles in real-time. Empire: Total War is the first game in the series to allow naval battles to be conducted in real-time.

This one looks good and the addition of the Naval battles looks like it may be fun too.  Hopefully we wont need a super computer to play it!  Pity it wasnt out before Xmas.

If you try Rome then visit 'Europa Barborum'.It takes the game back to where it belongs. All units are remodeled and it becomes the very best game ever. The Barbarians with their genitals exposed covered in war paint with their hair blowing in the wind biting their shields and foaming at he mouth will frieghten your "civilized" Romans to death! As they rightly did.Check it out...You will need to patch 1.2,1.3 then 1.5 then install. You will never go back.
When it comes to 'war and tactics' the ancients wrote the book.Learn to fight with the antiquity armys and you will understand all.The only difference is a war that lasts 6 years and spans 1200 miles and a battle that lasts 6 hours and spans 1200 men.Same thing...  Brede lach

Shouldn't that be British and Rebel Battles?  I always thought that until they won their independence they were British subjects Knipoog

Joking aside, this may be my most anticipated game for a while.

They won't be fun. We already know the outcome.

The American Rebels won.

Good Hunting.
