Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. d30 lab: http://www.d3o.com/index2.php?section=21-tech

this firm is constructing an inner layer for combat helmets.
this layer won't stop the bullet but it will protect the head from helmet which deforms at impact
the gel is fluid but it reforms into a solid base by impact of a foreign object
the fluidity will also give the helmet wearer more comfort to wear

We need a blog watch...

The first I would recommend to follow daily: Danger Room http://blog.wired.com/defense/

Only there you get the first touch on what is going on, from a mil view point and over all forces and nations, and stuff like HULC or the gel helmet can be read there earlier than in any other place.

I saw this advert about some kind of coating for glass that made it extremely resistant to shattering.
Does anyone know more about that sort of technology?  Could be useful for these kinds of things as well.
