Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. After some discussion we got the following results for a possible solution to the large scenario size issue.

2 Scenario Round Format:
Antonio C
TedRam1

However after looking more at the specifics of the scenarios I came up with the following information on them.

Round 1 scenario lengths were:
AL Throne of Glory(CMBB) (4000 points)  - 20+
I Woke Up Dead (CMBB) (3500 points) - 28
Thunder at Banya Pass (CMBB) (5000 points) - 35

Round 2 scenario lengths are:
BF-Forgotten Ground (CMAK) (17000 points) - 34+
Henk-21Pz D-day (CMAK) (11000 points)  - 40
Dams in the Flood (CMAK) (7000 points) - 33+

Remaining scenarios are:
SB Chasseurs at Abo 1940 (CMBB) (7000 points) - 40
Koen Normandy (CMAK) (18,000 points) - 30
HSG 3AD Saddle Up (CMAK) (14000 points)  - 34+

There are two other designers that may turn in scenarios before we end the tournament as well.

Considering that we managed to get the shortest and the smallest scenarios in round 1, and considering as much the length of these, as the size, I think we should possibly cut back to two scenarios per round and the extend time limits per round as needed. That still only gives us 4 rounds like originally intended and it gets some of the larger/longer scenarios paired up with a smaller one.

This is what I propose at this moment...

Round 1 (12,500 points)(29 turns average)

Round 2 (24,000 points)(36 turns average)
BF-Forgotten Ground (CMAK) (17000 points) - 34+
Dams in the Flood (CMAK) (7000 points) - 33+

Round 3 (25,000 points) (30 turns average)
SB Chasseurs at Abo 1940 (CMBB) (7000 points) - 40
Koen Normandy (CMAK) (18,000 points) - 30

Round 4 (25,000 points) (34 turns average)
Henk-21Pz D-day (CMAK) (11000 points)  - 40
HSG 3AD Saddle Up (CMAK) (14000 points)  - 34+

Round 5
Any other scenarios that get added to the tournament by a possible two other designers.

We'll keep the original 3 month time period for the round with the idea that if things get tight we can extend it.

This  proposal has the advantage of not only pairing some of the larger and smaller scenarios together but also some of the longer and shorter ones as well.

Comments would be good.

Two game rounds are probably the best bet.

I won't drop out in any case.

At the moment Antoni we are still seeking what the needs of the many are. The first set of responses were given without knowing what some of the upcoming scenarios look like. If you still would like to do only 2 scenarios for a round that are this size and these lengths then say so. At some point I'll decide which way we are going but  I'd like to know what it is you would "like" to see happen.

Good Hunting.

Sooooo.....you're one of those huh?!!

Actually that's the way most guys feel. It's making sure we get as many of the guys that have tight schedules and time issues to be able to play that we even go through these exercises.

IMO, they are worth it if we get even one more gamer involved.

Good Hunting.

I vote for the 2 scenarios, with extra time as needed.

I will play no mater what is decided.  I guess that makes me officially ambivalent.   Tong

I am seriously concerned about Facit.   Knipoog

Although I wouldn't mind to keep the tournament as intended, I wouldn't mind either to switch to the two-scenario-per-round format. It will be a bit less hectic.

But what to do with the already started Henk-21Pz D-day ? I'll keep it on hold pending your final decision.

If we go to the 2 scenario per round setup when we get back to Henk-21Pz D-day the same groups of gamers will get the same sides in that scenario.

Good Hunting.

Apparently my vote was not noticed in the previous thread. Guess I'll just quote myself.

My wife thinks it's too big too! (rimshot)  Brede lach

Ok seriously, do not change to a 2 scenario format for this round. If anything, just extend the round a month. That's my vote anyway.

I admit I was a bit surprised of the size at first. But it's not that bad. As we all know the beginning of rounds are pretty time consuming with 3 setups at once. But once we get going it's not that bad. Besides the other two aren't big at all, it kinda balances out that way.

If we just go with two, that's fine.

Ok, in response to MRs most recent email regarding another suggestion on how to resolve the current situation is that I'll resubmit my vote to be to go to two games per round.  Extend time as needed.

Regardless, I'm not going anywhere...   Cool
