Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. It was a year ago this week that the Masters Tournament was born. I did a search on The Scenario Depot II for those scenarios that had gotten a "10" rating or higher.

I then contacted the designers to see if they would be willing to make a single scenario in the upcoming year to supply for the tournament. Most said yes, a few said no. Almost without exception those that declined were in the middle of real life issues that prevented them from being a part of the tournament.

Now, here we are at the starting point again. There are  16 designers that earned that distinction this year. Those are ratings for scenarios that didn't earn that distinction last year. If you count scenarios that earned a "10" in previous years the number goes up to 17.

Since we are in the middle of the first Masters Tournament, you have a say in how future MT's will be done.

The one thing that I see, until BFC patches CMBB, is that all future tournaments should be CMAK only.  The reason is that at present when a machine with XP is replaced the newer machines with Vista don't run CMBB well, if at all.

Your input, along with any and all comments, would be appreciated. Things that I've done that could be improved upon. The overall conduct of the tournament. The way the seeding is done....whatever you feel may be relevant to a discussion concerning the future of the tournament.

My original goal was, and still is, that gamers from different clubs meet and play each other. That the tournament is about only one thing........FUN......... Brede lach

Isn't that little guy great??!! I laugh everytime I see him on here......

The one thing that is a given is that any scenario that is submitted to me for the tournament by a designer that earned a "10" will be used in the tournament by me with no prejudice. I'm not here to judge other designers work. I'm here to see if they will their obvious expertise in giving you the opportunity to play unseen scenarios by some of the CM communities best scenario designers chosen by the gamers themselves. That can produce some interesting results. It already has in round 1 of MT. Anything other than that I'm willing to discuss.

Good Hunting.

I think the philosophy of this tournament is such that:

1) it should be focused on connecting gamers from the many different clubs together
2) it should keep the people who can't play CMBB playing by offering CMAK only if we have to (until a driver fix arrives).
3) winning should be secondary to playing great scenarios

That being said: I hope that we allow the players who signed up late to take the places of those who cannot proceed, that those that cannot finish by wednesday to allow their scores to be counted (if possible) when (and if) they finish, and I believe that everybody in the tournament should buy the world a Coke, and live in harmony.

Second, I think that there should be a scenario created that allows me to play the VICHY FRENCH.  I so very much want to play the evhul frogs and beat the crap out of the yanks, that my teeth ache.  My kingdom for a good scenario in this vein.

Third, I would recommend that every person that enters this tournament PROVIDE FEEDBACK TO THE DESIGNER.  This tournament is being put together by hard working designers that do not ask for anything but people to appreciate their work, and help them make it better.  A few kudos and high fives to them would not be out of the order either .

Lastly, I would love to see Steve in a Mohawk.  I think that awful pile of cabbage that he calls a hairdo needs to go, and that if there was anyone who needed to get the funk out, it would be Steve.  I would also accept dreadlocks,

Are there any clubs out there that really have a problem with making changes to the format that would make it more enjoyable to all?

Now would be the time to speak.

Cheers!

Another thing that needs to happen is for all the clubs to provide links to their sites. I'm absolutely sure I didn't reach all the CM clubs out there. On our second try we need to get to them as well.

Nothing is for everybody but we are trying our best for those that enter this tournament to get the most out of it.

Good Hunting.

TEAM WORLD AT WAR

www.worldatwar.eu

This team is made up of a unique style of gamer, taxonomied as the "CROONIE".

The croonie is a vicious beast that will rain death, destruction and donuts upon all those who stand in their way.

Croonies come in two styles: cuddly and Leto.  The Leto model was deemed a production default and has been issued recall orders back to the factory.

WaW boasts a WORLD LADDER that takes as many people from around the world and across over a dozen clubs and collates individual club ladders to give a world ladder ranking overview that is very good.  There are also a plethora of tournaments, tactical threads and AAR's and DAR's... but you have to join up to take advantage of all the great features.  Stop by, and check us out.  We will be waiting in the dark back alley portion of the website to greet you ("is that a lead pipe in your hand?"... "No it tisn't!)

: )

Cheers!

Leto

Don't tell Leto that! And NEVER agree with him about anything or he'll just keep hanging around forever.

Good Hunting.

Unfortunately Sniper announce he will close the website CCM, too few members are playing... i will wait until the site will be close and then i will join another website to represent, maybe one who is by default. I think Fencig, the other CCM player, will do the same.

Just joined  the WaW site, looks kool. I haven't been active on a ladder in years. I assume I wasn't able to import my blitz stats since I'm inactive there.

Just noticed this, love the comments but have to add that the actual Croonie element is very small.  WaW consists of some great players from around the globe but the majority come from Eastern Europe, which seems to be a haven for good CM players.
