I've always wonder exactly what the role of the Japanese was during WW2. Especially the part they played in Hong Kong, the country where my dad was born and brought up in. And the place he and his family had to leave because of the Japanese occupation there during WW2. Does anyone know more about this subject? I would be very interested to learn more about it. Thanks in advance.
I'm not a 'Japanese' expert for WWII but what can I share:
the Japanese war for expansion (same as the German excuse for WWII) was started along time before WWIIin f.e. China.
they occupied many countries and killed thousands (hundred thousands of) of civilians, these stories are not so well known in Europe due to our own WWII stories.
stories of POW's are very rare since there was only 1 way of thinking of POW's: they are a problem...
I'm sure someone will come up with more details, I'll see what I can find on the net.
