The aim of this site is to document the organisational history of the land forces of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy from just prior to the outbreak of the Great War until the collapse of the monarchy in 1918.

here are some more sites I have book-marked in my favorites:

http://www.firstworldwar.com/index.htm
heavy on the photos and posters but still a lot of information.

http://www.chtimiste.com/
information on French regiments, in French.  info and pictures.

http://www.greatwardifferent.com/Great_War/index.htm#12
The Great War in a Different Light, a lot of information especially from journals and magazines of the era.

http://www.gwpda.org/
WWI document archive.  want to know what the Hague convention on air warfare says?  the peace treaty between the US and Austria?  the Paris Declaration on Maritime Law of 1856 even?  it's all here!

A lot of information on US units in WWI--identify shoulder patches, flags, planes, music, etc. (and yes, postcards.)

Searchable National Archives Database of British Army WWI Service Records, 1914-1920 (name, surname, birth date, residence, service time, keywords)

This database contains the surviving service records of non-commissioned officers and other ranks who served in WWI and did not re-enlist in the Army prior to World War II. With the latest release, this database now contains records for surnames beginning A-N.

The type of information contained in these records includes: name of solider, age, birthplace, occupation, marital status, and regiment number.
