Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. you copy/paste the URL of the YouTube video into the square above and hit download.

then you go right-click on one of 2 options 'flv'-'mp4' and save as 'get_video' to f.e. 'my documents'

afterwards you change the name of the file in 'my documents'

it's all written on the page bud... Brede lach... hatsoff

I always used the ant toolbar.
That downloads it in the .flv format.
Would be great if someone knew a good program in converting .flv files to .mpg or .wmv!

why don't you use KeepVid? No converting needed  hatsoff

I download, modify the video and upload it to our WaT Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/warandtactics

When I make my own movies I use Windows Movie maker:

I will have to take a close look on that, sounds really intriguing, but I am not sure it will work on Macs?

since KeepVid was down I installed this FireFox add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006

install it and it will lead you to a webpage to download a converter which will let you convert while downloading from flv. to your choice

I tried and approved

Im afraid I am hopelessly challenged when it comes to computers. I DLd this Firefox add on, the little Icon sits up there rotating and tempting me, but when I click it all I get is a screen that is of no help to me. I can hear the music playing but know not where to go from here. So much for intuitive systems.

oops... click on extra at the top of the PC screen, you'll see 'Downloadhelper' at the bottom of the menu list. Stand on it with your mouse and you'll get the next menu. There you see 'media', again stand on it with the mouse.
Next you'll see the formats the video is available. Again go stand on it with the mouse and you'll have another menu. Click 'download and convert' and you get a pop-up where you choose AVI (mpeg4+mp3) and then the location where you want to store it.

The software gets updates so you'll probably have to download the latest version before you get started
