Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. During operation Konrad 509th bn had to take the bvridges across the sarvic river in Hungary.
This was one of the first encounters where an entire bn heavy tanks was succesfully engaging the enemy and doing their job well.
Unfortunately after penetrating the soviet lines, the Russians blew up the bridges.
Nonetheless the battle itself was succesfull for the bn.

Crush the enemy and take the bridges!

And a small movie to get the feeling, thanks to Steve Bohlin.

Already have a few comments to make/questions to ask:

- briefing would have been nice (although I presume the current version id for testing, so no real need for that)
- terrain seems a bit too flat and even, in my opinion, but I don't have a map so it might be accurate
- why SS troops? sPzAbt509 was regular Heer, not SS

That's it for now, still in the process of setting up. Knipoog

LOl,

Yes, briefing comes later.
The terrain there was hilly , I have used the maps from jentz and some other sources and Google.
The map is not accurate but a representation from what I think it could have been.
SS?
Oops I must have used the wrong armor, the accompanying infantry was from 3rd SS Smiley

As I suspected.

Could have more hills, but the general layout looks good. Only the wet ground will pose a dire problem for the german tanks...

SS?

Yup, all the armor crews are SS as well. But that's only a minor point, of course.

Not enough though, the Germans lost 2/3 rd of the tanks due to mech/mobilization problems and mines Smiley
There were 18 left after a few days Smiley
In testing I lost 6 to bogging.

My first HSG scenario, posted at WaT.

Thanks to the playtesters.
Much thanks to Steve Bohlin for his incredible help with the Soviet OOB!!

If you ever dreamed of commanding a batallion of King Tigers, here is your chance!
Play axis against AI, or two player (better player take russians)

Enjoy.

Henk,
It looks pretty impressive.  I am right in the middle of some major real life action, so I might not be able to play it for a while yet.  I was able to download and check out the map and equipment.  It has been a while since I've seen so many Königstiger lined up and ready to hunt in a scenario.

A quick question...are the flags important for victory conditions for the Germans or are the bridges the major charge?  I know that sometimes the flags are there for directing the AI, but I was wondering if the German player in this battle should ignore the flags and concentrate on the bridges, since that would be the major objective.

It looks like a really nice set-piece battle.  I like the map, and haven't really looked closely at it yet.

Hi Heinrich, the bridges are off course the end objective Knipoog
The flags are there so the AI will not draw away troops from their defensive posititons when playing the AI.
Off course, as allways I have added a few nice surprises in this scenario Smiley
