Yesterday the last saturday in june was the day we commemorate and honour our veterans.
This event is celebrated for the 9th year now.
Every unit who fought somewhere in the world since world war 2 has aplace in a static show for its men, equipment and off course to inform visitors about their missions.
Veterans from ww2, Korea, Dutch Indies but also Jougoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan and Libanon.
At the end of the day a parade through The Hague, watched by 1000s of people.
My platoon!
And myself!
We had the honour to walk with those veterans, a small detachement representing the entire 3500 men strong Reserve force.
veterans dayMy detachement comes into view after the interview with the red baret, unfortunately I was just out of sight.
A very great day, and an event that was much needed and appreciated by civilians and veterans!
