Taking your report as sacrament: Being drunk happens to all (?) of us sometimes, methinks, not with the consequences, though, because we know to behave better (and I am not refering to the presumed death threats to German soldiers, who knows who he had a clash with that day, got a list of HdP´s myself):
Whenever a bar owner says to me something way out of my line of perception but way diplomatically: "Matt, I think you would prefer to be heading way home", feeling drunk or not, I leave. Period. (been there, done that). I by rule assume he knows better than myself at that point.
I might not even understand at that time what he would be talking about, but reacting positively and in reflex to his coment is the effect of what is called "education" in my book, and I have never failed - that I knew of, of course, there are some relevant moments in my past that I could not testify about even if I wanted to...

To get in a fight (happens even to peaceful me, see my birthday report) when drunk and *not* getting the hell out of Dodge but insist shows poor auto-estimation and poor leadership (character evaluation at the side). As a commander it surely will lose you authority and hence neutralize your effectiveness from the green machine POV: Confronting MP when being that high a commander (responability wise) shows a lack of situational awareness that should not be permitted for such a task. Alternatively it shows an exagerrated grade of self esteem combined with (thats clasical Spanish, btw): "You have no idea who you are talking to!" that alsow cannot be allowedin a team.
My take: He got what he asked for (DISCLAIMER: That just from Koens colportation, have no other insights to the case in question at all).

he kept on shouting and was in the highest state of drunkness...
the incident happened on May 13th in Kunduz
