Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Thanks for the advice guys. Smiley

I think the salt sounds like a brilliant idea and the beer too.   I don't want to eat them though!   Knipoog

Salt and beer are not necessary:

Lavender at the foot of a plant you want to protect keeps the snails away, without killing them (and so leaving them to people like me who *do* like to eat them Smiley )

Maybe I should just pack up as many snails as possible and ship them over to you,  Rattler?

Todays a warm(ish), sunny day.  I think sitting out on the deck and enjoying a good book sounds good.

This is kind of a creepy picture.  We went on a walk recently and found this hunters outpost.  It's no longer used I think,  the wood is old and brittle:

Because of all the stormy winter weather we get here,  this is not an unusual sight.  A large tree uprooted:

The first pic is different for sure.  The clouds make it look creepy, kind of.

I have to be honest when I look at your photo's I get the impression you live in some post apocalyptic area, eerie landscapes with the barren stretch of road give it sort of a "Blair Witch" feel.

Well,  it is kind of like that.  Especially if you venture too far into the forest and get lost!  It's very wild, not for everyone,  but I like it,  I've always been a bit strange anyway...    Grijns

How did the fishing trip go?   Yeah, that is a little crazy!  It's a long way to go for a fish.  And worse, they can't take it home either.  But we do have some mighty big fish here.    Smiley

Koen, is that you cat?  What a great picture.

I've been thinking about what MontyB said recently about where I live reminding him of the 'Blair Witch' project.  Well,  just for him,  here is a video confirming that he is very correct!  I took this a couple of days ago:
