Ooops, just realized I did some changes to the music thread as TA, sandby for explanation by the prerpetuator...

Al least the software informs about the problem (you can still click on the link)...

And another one, for Jilly, Sky and Solideo primarily:

A song of the new disc of "Bebé", she has so often been called feministic with her initial work, took a pause of 4 yrs, and this year was back: Nothing feministic, apart from being exactly my prey scheme I think she is a deep thinking woman that has an uncompared style of saying things...

This one is surely politically incorrect , but very sensual (hence censored in the US, for both reasons I presume):

Quote
No subestimes a esta bicha
aunque tenga poca chicha en la cintura
Anda quítame la envoltura
y ya verás. Ya verás. (2 veces)

Y a mi salvaje me gusta sacar a pasear

(2 veces)

A ver tontones,
Y me arranques to lo arrancable

Y a montar alguna garabía

(2 veces)

Frente a frente
Ponte delante de mi
Provócame pa que te envista
Pide pistas, no me vistas

(2 veces)

No subestimes a esta bicha
aunque tenga poca chicha en la cintura.
No subestimes a esta bicha
aunque tenga poca chicha.

No es traidor el que avisa.
Do not underestimate this animal!
though it has little fat on the waist (diplomatic approach to "small tits")
Come on! Take off my wrap-around
and you'll find out. You'll find out. (2 times)

It´s that up front and back I am an animal,
not a heavenly muse.
And I like to take my savageness for a walk
To climb the pine trees to play with the wheels of the wind mills.

I got on my rope swing
To get me the occasional party under the stars,
in the sea and at the countryside
So that the sun would discover us still dancing...

And the wind that cools down all the Mambo,
My feet, splashing barefoot in the mud,
They balance things, take a good look!

I'm a princess, a warrioress, a lady from the fields,
oceanic, volcanic, electrical and very "suave"
Because when I want, I am a kitten, and purr...

Do not underestimate this little animal!
though it has little fat on the waist
Come on! Take off my wrap-around
and you'll find out. You'll find out. (2 times)

Let´s see, stupids:
When I want to, I wear pants -
but I like the skirt more
So that you can put your hand under it,
And start what can be started...

Get in me,
I want to feel you,
If you are true to your word,
Then get out the leash and tie my wrists,
Let´s see if you really can make my freckles turn inside...

Come join your land with mine
And to ride any Garabi
If you do well I'll give you a cone a premium,
and I shag you...

With my legs, my hair,
With my tongue, or with the language that you and I are going to invent,
I do not care that someone might listen
That language is physical, carnal and pretty straightforward!

Do not underestimate this little animal!
though it has little fat on the waist
Come on! Take off my wrap-around
and you'll find out. You'll find out. (2 times)

Head to head,
Stand in front of me!
Provoke me so I can see you
Calls the tracks, don´t dress me up
because I sting you like a wasp.

I'm shrewd, when I want to!
I am a mortar, when I want to!
And with my eyes I can crush
those impertinent hurtful looks...

I do not care what people think,
I do not care what people think,
I do not care what people think,
So, do not underestimate this little animal.

Do not underestimate this animal!
though it has little fat on the waist
Come on! Take off my wrap-around
and you'll find out. You'll find out. (2 times)

Do not underestimate this animal!
though it has little fat on the waist
Do not underestimate this animal!
though it has little fat on the waist

Meant to post this one for a long time, primarily had it prepared for Jillys´HANG forum in the "agressioin" thread, but I hink it fits here very well also.

There are two type of men I really hate, pederasts and men who beat their women. Here to the women who suffer such treatment, from the fist album of Bebé, 2005, before she took her 4 years sabbatical, for me one of her best songs ever, what a power in lyrics and music! (the translation cannot fully transport the Spanish meaning):

Quote

Malo, malo, malo eres
no se daña a quien se quiere, no
tonto, tonto, tonto eres
no te pienses mejor que las mujeres
Malo, malo, malo eres
no se daña a quien se quiere, no
tonto, tonto, tonto eres

Malo, malo, malo eres
no se daña a quien se quiere, no
tonto, tonto, tonto eres
no te pienses mejor que las mujeres
Malo, malo, malo eres
no se daña a quien se quiere, no
tonto, tonto, tonto eres

Malo, malo, malo eres
no se daña a quien se quiere, no
tonto, tonto, tonto eres
no te pienses mejor que las mujeres
Malo, malo, malo eres
no se daña a quien se quiere, no
tonto, tonto, tonto eres
no te pienses mejor que las mujeres...

Malo, malo, malo eres
malo eres, porque quieres
Malo, malo, malo eres
no me chilles que me duele
Eres debil y eres malo no te pienses

malo, malo, malo eres, siempre
malo, malo malo eres.
You appeared one cold night
smelling of tobacco and gin
fear was already creeping up me
while crossing my fingers behind the door
Your handsome boy´s face
lt 'has disappeared through the time
and your macho insecurity
is reflected every day in my little tears

Please, not again, I'm so tired..
I can´t bear it in my heart,
Once more again, please not, my love,
do not shout, the kids are sleeping.

Please, not again, I'm tired of it,
I can`t bear it in my heart,
Once more again?! Please not, my love,
do not shout, the kids are sleeping.

I'm going to convert me into fire,
I'll burn your fists of steel,
and I will find the courage in my purple brown cheeks
to make you pay for my wounds.

Bad! Bad! Bad you are,
you don´t damage what you love!
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid you are,
stop thinking you are superior to women!
Bad! Bad! Bad you are,
one doesn´t damage what one loves!
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid you are,
stop thinking you are superior to women!

The day is gray when you're present,
and the sun comes back out when you go.
And the hurt in my heart
I have to swallow at the kitchen fires.
My lovely girl's face
has aged in the silence,
every time you call me whore
your brain is getting a bit smaller.

Please, not once more again, I'm tired..
I can´t bear it in my heart,
Once more again, please not, my love
do not shout, the kids are sleeping.

Please, not once more again, I'm so tired of it,
I can´t bear it in my heart,
Once more again, please not, my love
do not shout, the kids are sleeping.

I'm going to convert me into fire,
I'll burn your fists of steel,
and I will find the courage coming from my purple brown cheeks
to make you pay for my wounds.

Bad! Bad! Bad you are,
one doesn´t damage what one loves!
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid you are,
stop thinking you are superior to women!
Bad! Bad! Bad you are,
one doesn´t damage what one loves!
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid you are,
stop thinking you are superior to women!

I'm going to convert me into fire,
I'll burn your fists of steel,
and from my purple brown cheeks will come the courage
to make you pay for my wounds.

Bad! Bad! Bad you are,
you don´t damage what you love!
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid you are,
stop thinking you are superior to women!
Bad! Bad! Bad you are,
you don´t damage what you love!
Stupid! Stupid! Stupid you are,
stop thinking you are superior to women!

You are bad, bad, bad!
You are bad, because you want to!
You are bad, bad, bad!
Don´t shout, that hurts my ears!
You are weak and bad, stop thinking you're...
... better than I or anyone!

And now I am going to smoke a cigarette
and I will blow the smoke right into your little heart,
because:  Bad, bad, bad you are, you!
bad, bad, bad you are, yes!
bad, bad, bad you are, always!
Bad, bad, bad you are!

Bebe - Malo

And, a great - if different - live version from her Italian tour 2006, ay! those beautiful powerful women with big earrings!  smallclap

I appreciate the artistry and message of this artist, however Malo is much more powerful than La Bicha and touches my sense of justice very deeply. Once again my caveat as to my opinion is in order.

That´s what these boards are for, to voice opinions Smiley

I, too, find "Malo" more powerful, but I find La Bicha very sensual indeed. Different songs for different times.

Thanks, FACman, Jilly!

Another one of Bebé as I have a hunch her songs are appreciated here. For me she is some kind of "Joan Baez" of our times, both with her first album from 2005 and now, in 2009, with her second album - however different they may be. Those singers are so refreshingly more natural as the "casted" brand of the Britney Spear/Enrique Iglesias type that we get assaulted with since 10 yrs, they sing what they think or feel, they *think* (!), they can play an instrument, they write poems, they are authentic...

I had been following her from various angles (since "Malo" which made me take note of her presence), I have collected vid material about her surroundings, childhood and other stuff (not knowing her at that time, talking ´90+ here, it was through research on my probably never to be finished "Music of the South" aka Flamenco project), I have read and listened to a lot of her interviews she gave, and I have had the luck (or bad luck, time will show) to have met her in person. From all angles I have been impressed.

This one (from her new one) will become my 2010 "Valentine Song for Separated Lovers", it is really hard to translate as she now plays the lyrics much more subtle (and the pics!) and with a lot of double meanings involved, so, I will take the liberty to sometimes provide different translations of the same phrase to transport a bit of this subtlety (or add alternative meanings in parenthesis). For example, the central refrain, "¿donde estabas cuando te llamaba?" translates literally into "Where were you when I phoned you", but it could also  - depending on context - mean "Where were you when I needed you" and many more, I translated it differnetly every time.

Anyway, many of us men who once in their life were left by the woman they loved and without obvious causes to blame (while thinking they had done everything possible and within their power to keep things alive and vivid) have a lot of questions (if they´re the doubting type, of cause) that this song maybe cannot answer but shade a female light on those things we men will never understand but can only guess... my take, that is.

Quote
Me fui, pa echarte de menos
me fui, pa volver de nuevo
me fui, pa estar sola
me fui

me fui pa estar sola
me fui, por eso me fui
pa echarte de menos
me fui, pa volver de nuevo
me fui pa estar sola,
me fui

¿donde estabas cuando te llamaba?
¿donde estabas cuando te llamaba?
¿donde estabas cuando te llamaba?
¿donde estabas cuando te llamaba?
por eso me fui
pa echarte de menos
me fui, pa volver de nuevo
por eso me fui, pa estar sola

me fui, pa volver a hacerlo de nuevo otra vez.
I left, to feel missing you (to see how it would be to miss you)
I left, to come back (again/as new)
I left, to be alone
I left...

Because I have been so close, almost *so* close
that I can not see anymore what is close to my eyes.
My hands, which are no longer hands, and I hope in vain
that one day they will give me life back again.

I'm throwing myself against the eyes of another guy...
At least, when he looks at me, he makes me smile for a moment,
because your eyes are so far away from me (so distant),
that I can almost not see them (that I can almost not bear looking at them)

In the mean time...

Where were you when I phoned you?
Where were you when I asked for you (r presence)?
Where were you when my voice became so small
that it did not come out and drowned in a room,
or within me?
Where were you when you slept at my side and I could not sleep?
Where were you when I heard you saying stuff you don´t even believe yourself?
Between all this shit, tell me: Where were you?

Where were you when I phoned you?
Where were you when I called your attention?
Where were you when I asked your presence?
Where were you when I phoned you?

That´s why I left...
To feel how it is to miss you,
I left, to be new again
I left,  to be alone
I left, that´s why I left.
To feel missing you
I left to come back
I left to be alone,
I left.

Where were you when I phoned you?
Where were you when I called your attention?
Where were you when I asked your presence?
Where were you when I phoned you?
So I left.
To miss you,
I left to become new.
I left to be alone.

I left, to find me soon repeating all this over again (I left, to come back and to start it all new again ).

Good Morning! Smiley

What a nice song to wake up to on a sunny day, to a tune most of us will know: "...like a promise, you are, like a morning of summer; like a smile you are, like the water of my fountain, like the fire in my house... Smiley" )

A most appropriate one for this site and time of year. A testament to the common man's common sense, and the realization that left to their own devices, they knew the truth in their hearts.
