Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. finally some 'constructing/building' instead of DEconstructing  whistle

started laying the bedroom floor, no fake wood but the real stuff... piece by piece.... hoping for the best  hihi (and afterwards cleaning and working on that floor)

after the floor we can start with the bedroom walls....

meanwhile the electricity works started slowly...

monday morning a guy from the electricity provider is coming to check our 'box'... it's almost falling out of the wall....  cry

oh.... the small housie is scheduled for thursday to get its energycheck

yep.... life is a rollercoaster at the moment....

but with -14°C we now are reminded on how life is now in our wooden shed in the woods and where our future lays in our solid house with central heating etc.... quite a motivation woohoo

preparing a swift de-installation of the current installation
picture 2: putting 3 grounding pins in the ground

working on the watersupply: both cold and warm for kitchen and bathroom, kitchen is difficult to get too so that's not the easiest part! remember that there was NO kitchen NEITHER bathroom  Onbeslist

the last untouched room has been pre-cleaned
picture 3: before
picture 4: not so promising!

sry, don't have the energy to download and post pics...

been digging a ditch for the toilets an shower outside and a 2nd ditch for the waterguys who are installing a new watercounter tomorrow morning...

drilling holes through the sidewall for toilets, shower and washing

Karine's working on cement and brick stuff

we're both on low batteries.... and tomorrow it's back to the 7-17 job....

at the moment we're focussing on 'warm water' - 'shower' - 'toilet' to make it possible to 'move' and start 'living' in the new house.......

we need to fix a small leak in the shower though.....  whistle

tomorrow (I'm sick but need to ignore it) I must fix/build the...pffffffffffffff.... 'flow away' of the water into the drainage on the street....

and we're working on the kitchen's electricity and water....

we need to get out of the cottage this month!

we can sleep
we can almost wash ourselves

I'll NEVER do this again in my life....

the drainage is done: shower, 2 toilets, washing machine and more are now connected to the public drainage

this summer the city's replacing the street's drainage so changes will be made again

1 toilet is working now
the shower is giving us cold/warm water, we do need to install the entry door

got lighting in the workshop

and many other things have been done...

oh man.... we still need to pack everything in the housie and move everything including furniture....

strange period in our lives.... we're both really pushing our personal limits but having no option is what pushes us on....

Make sure you are around when they start working!
I had some pretty nasty experiences with these public workers and my drainage when I lived in Soest.
They sealed one of our pipes off, causing water from the dishes and the toilet to flood under our kitchen.
It took nearly 2 months to get rid of the smell after they fixed it ( which took them 6 months to find the problem)

Fingers crossed everything will work out for you. I can remember the last time I did this kind of work quite well and I expect to have to do it again...

It'll be totally worth it though.

Is there internet access out where the house is? If so, how long will it take you to get connected?

Good Hunting.
