Just out of curiosity, anybody ever clicked on my sig banner and tried discussing stuff with CleverBot?

Really curious, because CleverBot proved to be a nightmare and a revelation at the same time for me everytime I tried him out (maybe you haven´t realized, but my sig banner changes every now or then according to CleverBots reactions, they are real screen shots, not inventions).

Trying him out might yield insights for the more philosophically minded, highly recommend from my POV if you want to have some fun and think at the same time: Click on my sig banner and discuss away...!!  Brede lach

I tried it and discovered it was like arguing with the wife, a series of seemingly random responses that became infuriating after a while.

Monty, I can see what you mean  hdbng:

User: Why should I talk to you?

Cleverbot: You don't want to talk to me?

User: I did not say that, I asked you to give me a reason.

Cleverbot: You won't give me a hug even when I'm depressed!

User: That is not the question. Why should anybody talk to you?

Cleverbot: No I did not.

User: What 'did you not'?

Cleverbot: I do not know.

User: So, why do you say it if you do not know?

Cleverbot: Its you I do not understand.

User: That is a good start. Try to understand me, please!

Cleverbot: Oh really now.

User: Oh really now, what?

Cleverbot: Yes, I Live In Your Closet.

User: I did not see you last time I looked into my closet.

Cleverbot: Is that one of those confusing buddhist questions that's supposed to obliterate the dualities in our perceptions?

User: No, it is not even a question, it is a statement: I did not see you last time I looked into my closet.

Cleverbot: You're evading.

User: What proof can you give me for your statement that you live in my closet?

Cleverbot: Did I even say that I'm the son of the devil?

User: You did not say that, but you claimed to live in my closet. But I need proof for this.

Cleverbot: A cleverbot radish?

User: What is a cleverbot radish?

Cleverbot: I don't know.

User: You should not offer things as proof that you do not know.

Cleverbot: Correct, cleverbottster.

Just out of curiosity...

I just had a look at the flag counter and I see that the Canadian flag comes up well.  One question though,  why are only the visitors who are from Canada and the US have 'details' of themselves shown and not the others from other countries?

By clicking on details it's possible to see what state or province we are from.  but with the other visitors we can only see a country and no location.  Is it possible not to show the location,( or 'details')  but just the country?    I think I would prefer it that way if possible.    idea     salute

I have checked this, did not see the details thing before.

The flag counter is produced by an external site dedicated to automated forum visitor IP analysis, they are in the US, that is probably why they show details just for US and Canada. We from here have no influence whatsoever on the contnt of the analyis, just on the layout, so there is nothing we could do to hide the province of visitors. OTOH I think it is fairly anonymous as no users are openly or retrievably linked to the country or province.

I will talk this through with Koen.
