Title: Attn All - Poll: Image Processors
Post by: Rattler on 9 October 2009, 08:55:52
Just wanted a quick check what image processors are the standard for "normal" users and to what average they are sitributed withn our members.

Background: I am thinking of starting a image processing contest on the forum, but of cause this makes only sense if we have enough members who posess or know to handle an image processor.

For the record, I use PS

When I edit pictures I open them in PS Elements to edit the corners of pictures when needed, camera distortion and save them as a 2nd copy.

Then I go into PS and finish them...

I also have Capture NX but don't really use it.

i did some research and found a nice list of image resizers/editors i want to recommend.

http://www.snap2objects.com/2007/07/20/45-best-freeware-design-programs/ (http://www.snap2objects.com/2007/07/20/45-best-freeware-design-programs/)

throughly researched, and i tried the mac versions out to see how the researchers worked. hte list also contains a lot of other not strictly image editing programs, like renderers, tools etc., the tools i see there i own all and can clearly state they made a good choice.

my favorite of this list are the two GIMPs (see first two in the list), almost like photoshop, but free and for all platforms (i am not sure about vista):

more in depth info about it: http://www.gimp.org/about/ (http://www.gimp.org/about/) and for gimpshop http://thegimpshop.net/index.php (http://thegimpshop.net/index.php)

hope this helps, really would like to get such a fun contest going... :)

best thing to is to choose one programm and stick to it...otherwise you'll never get to learn it and use lots of time...

I can't seem to find the post where it was explained how to put up clickable photos, instead of the full size ones.  I'd like to learn how to do this, but without being directed to the photobucket site each time I click.  Thanks in advance.  :)

There *is* no post on how to do it, because each photo container (like photobucket) does it his own way.

Here, in *this* forum software, attaching (go reply, then advanced, then addtiional options under the text area) a pic will make a thumbnail, clikcing on it will enlarge it (but this varies with forum softwares)
