Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. I was wondering what the goals of this site are? I understand we can talk shop using these treads but can we post scenarios for testing, create game ladders, etc? Does it matter what games we discuss here? CM? Matrix etc? Just want to know what the ground rules and limitations are.  Knipoog

Here on Wat we have several goals.

***First we collect pictures and postcards of all wars and conflicts.
One of our members, Alan, has a huge postcard collection and slowly but surely has been scanning them and uploading them HERE & HERE. For myself I have the privilege of living nearby the Ardennes and therefore try to take as much pictures I can, you can find them HERE Other pictures are posted along the board.

***We collect OOB's from several wars, this is mainly Steve 'MR' 's responsability. This has 2 purposes, to give people 1 place where they can find all OOB's and to use those OOB's in historical scenarios in all games related to wars and conflicts. German WWII OOB's can be found HERE, Soviet OOB's HERE

***Games can be reviewed and talked about, this is not our main goal since there are already numerous sites that do so. The games section will grow when needed.

***Books and movies are another section, tell us what books you're reading, what movie you've seen and which ones you recommend and more...

***We also have a A-Z glossary section, just to try to get a grip on the thousands of '3 letter' words, have a look at the list HERE

***And there's more, just have a look at the forum main page and you'll see that there are plenty of possibilities as 'military history', 'military equipment'

What we dont' do?
*Gossip, flamewars, swearing or any sexual topics/replies are things we disapprove.
No, we aren't holier then the pope but there are already plenty of other places to act and behave how you want.
This doesn't mean that we don't like a good joke or such, why do you think we have a lounge area?

What are we not?
A closed book.

What are we?
We appreciate any kind of input from our members. Both for the content of the posts and how WaT is build.
Feel free to come up with ideas and share them with us.

I always describe WaT as a project.
The content will grow, vary and will be modified.
The subboards will grow when needed, deleted or modified when proven needed.

Have a look around and you'll see what I mean.

I'm always available for your questions, remarks and/or recommendations.

While the site was never intended as a scenario depository or a playtesting site, there are dozens of sites that already do that, if there is a need for that kind of support in the community, for it to be put all in a single place, that could be something we would discuss/consider.

Good Hunting.
