Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Germany wasnt allowed to build tanks, hence the name Neubaufahrzeug.
Built by Rheinmetal, design dates back to 1933.
Rheinmetall and Krupp both made a prototype.
Only 5 were build, two vehicles by Krupp with the Rheinmetal turret, the other 3 completely build by Rheinmetal.

Remarkable for this tank were the turrets, 1 large turret for the main guns, and two smaller turrets for the mg.
The Rheinmetal vehicle was equiped with a 75L23 gun and a 37mmL45 on top of eachother. While in the Krupp turret both guns were placed next to eachother.
The Krupp vehicles were used in Norway in the early stage of the war.
Production stopped with the 5 vehicles produced.
In 1935 plans were made for a successor, the LaS 100, this vehicle would evolve into the Pz II.

Weight: 23 ton
Rheinmetal, 75L23, 37L45 and two 7.92mm mg's (75 mm under, 37mm on top)
Krupp, 37L45 and two mg's. (both guns next to eachother)
Armor: front 20mm, side 13 mm
Engine: BMW Va 6 cilinder mit 290 h/p
