~Sarcasm Alert~
This makes me so proud of my country.
Back to serious...
This does not surprize this Viet Vet, as I have lived with the abandonment since the day I returned from the war zone. We were the first GIs to not win our war (Yeah I know about Korea, but they arent perceived as losers) The concept of an ever victorious US Military died with our failure (yeah, I know it was doomed from the start, but that doesnt change the perception). My recent 2 1/2 year battle with the Dept of Vet Affairs was just another aspect of this "use 'em an' lose 'em" mentality. In all fairness to my country, I suspect this type of treatment is not all that uncommon around the globe.
Hence a reminder to all who would step up to defend their country, your patriotism is a badge of honor to be worn over your heart and I salute you, but do not forget, on the stage of the world, you are but a pawn.
Back to flippant...
alright... who's the Troll that got me started?
