Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. A pic from yesterday´s hurricane, we made it on the portal page of the local diary!

My boat survived in the end, with minor damage to woodwork (but 5 lines broke!), my house the door was pried open by the wind and inside it was quite a disaster but just needed a good clenaing, so: In the end we got away well.

Others did not have so much luck: We lost a total of 25 boats+, 5 ppl in hospital because they got hit by flying debris.

In Palma it was nothing compared to our 150 km/h gusts, but still interesting to see how it looks even when it evolves from force 5 to force 7 (Beaufort) with waves of just 2 mtrs (we had 6! and here was no way you could walk straight, you were ducking gusts and zig-zaging if you were lucky...):
Fuerte temporal en Mallorca

This is what it looke here like:

Unwetter Sturm Port Andratx Mallorca

And, we had UFO´s at avout the the same time (UFOs = OVNIs in Spanish = Objetos Volandos No Identificados = Objets Flying Not Identified):

OVNI Mallorca (puntos naranjas en el cielo)

but then, we have them all the time:

Ovni en Palma de Mallorca

Even myself I have made some pics a week ago of a bright orange OVNI and after that of a whole group of them (all alike), and I had gone to the place to take the shots on a dream of OVNIs the night before that then came true, I will post when I find the time to sort out my massive download of over 500 pix...

Quite the storm,  it's good that your place wasn't damaged at all,  Rattler.  You seem to get quite a lot of bad weather over there.

twice a year, but then it´s heavy. Cold air from northern Europe hits the (relatively) "hot" sea (23 degrees still) and it just explodes!

Don´t know whether you saw previous post after my edit, here a part again, to give you an idea:

That's looks like a real fierce storm.  People must have to replace their boats often.
