Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Those are some very interesting shots Koen.

Three things jump out of your pictures. First the Panther doesn't have the muzzle brake on the gun and second whoever did the camouflage paint job painted the tracks too, plus on the one side apparently the track is either broken or missing some because it doesn't go over the back wheel, it's only on in the front.

There is a very detailed description of this battle in the book "Freineux and Lamormenil -The Ardennes -" by George Winter

They have shown this to be tank number 7 of the 4th company. I haven't found whose tank that is but the leading Panther ace of the war was in that company as well. Oberscharfuhrer Ernst Barkmann's tank number was 401 at that time.

Good Hunting.

Tank number 407 is probably correct for this particular tank. Which is noted on the plaque, "was found down the road". I dont think it would be correct for the Panthers taking part in the Freineux attack.

Good Hunting.
