I'm not the expert so: is this a PzIII with long 50mm and sideskirts?

I somehow got the feeling this is not the most common panzer?

Look closely at the drive sprocket - it's actually a refitted old PzIIIF with additional armor, skirts and a L/60 gun. All in all brought up to Ausf.M standard which was standard policy for vehicles returned to the workshops.

50 mm KwK39 L/60?

do you have some details on this type?

Panzer III Ausf. M - Minor modifications such as deep-wading exhaust and schurzen. 250 produced in 1942-1943?

I MUST get more books since I find it hard to identify the different types  Onbeslist

same as this one? http://www.warandtactics.com/smf/panzer-iii-its-variants/sd-kfz-1411-pzkpfw-iii-ausf-m-5cm-kwk-39l60/

Yup, the long 50mm - the short would, well, be shorter. And the gun base is much thicker.

What are you looking for? I might get my hands on the Spielberger book covering the PzIII, otherwise I'd recommend the Opsrey book for a quick and half-way detailed overview.

I'd say so, yes. Only that the above is a refit and not a manufactured Ausf.M.
