This image of a Panzerkampfwagen I (mg) Ausf. B, Sd. Kfz. 101, is from the Aberdeen Proving Grounds in the UK.  Notice the insignia (DAK?) at the center of the turret.

take yourself mentally back to 1938, say, and imagine how modern this design looked compared to anything that had come before.  How terrified you'd be if one came at you!

this is one of my favorite postcards, it was mailed in 1939; I got it in London, too.  Is this a PzI, model A?  they almost look unarmed.

The Aberdeen Proving Grounds is in Maryland, in the United States, not the UK.

The pictures of that last vehicle are a prototype for a heavier Panzer I. The PzKpfw I neuer Art  verstark (VK.1801)
