Anti tank mines

The difference is layed/buried or just thrown over a road.
A minefield is made by burying mines at regular distances on a place you do not want tanks to pass.
That can be in front of a defensive position to secure the road leading to it, but it can also be on a place you dont have overwatch, i.e. a flank which cant be properley defended.
It depends about the width of a tank/vehicle to disable it, on a normal road 6 will be enough to get a tanks tracks off.
The basic width of tanks is well known, best way is to have them in a zigzag pattern, mixed with antipersonel mines.


Daisychains are nothing more than a few mines tied together by rope or on a plank.
Basically 6 mines with distances of 60 centimeters between them.
Standard procedure was simple, you  were  hugging the ground of a ditch near the road/ or behind a small hill.
When tanks  come near you all you than had to do was  pull the chain over the road, the tank would than be disabled and you could engage the crew.
