Shoots missiles straight out of the air, firing at them at the last instant before they hit- Installed on top of vehicles or installations, it fires downwards and not out at the projectile.
Currently saftey evaluated after many successful tests it might enter production next year.
As it works so
well against e.g. ATGMs the developers thought to test it against something faster, namely the "explosively formed projectiles" that were one of the deadliest weapon of the Iraq insurgency. These bombs fire out
armor-piercing jets of molten metal at a blinding two to four kilometers per second — 10 times as fast as the projectiles. Add it worked there as well in first tests...
