Hello!
At Origins this year, as part of the "Origins War College" speaker
track, I'll be running CPXes using several different games:
Flashpoint Germany, Conquest of the Aegean (or Battles from the Bulge,
Panther's current game-in-progress), and TacOps.
These will be run as 4-hour long mock staff exercises, with players
put into various roles (CO, XO, Intel, Maneuver, Fires, Future Ops)
and guided through planning and executing a mission.
(I've done this twice before, but it was a joint event between the
Army, Origins, the Marines, and Matrix Games; this year, it's just the
Army and Origins, so I have a bit more flexibility in my choice of
games -- thus TacOps is now in the lineup! (My flexibility also got
reduced in some respects: I was told not to do any Air Force, Navy,
or Marine events!
) )
I'm announcing this for two reasons....
First, some of you may want to come and play.
Second, I'd be very happy to hook up with a TacOps player or players
would would be willing to be the TacOps operator(s) for this exercise.
I should be able to wrangle you a free pass into the OWC events in
exchange for this.
