Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. The USS America (CV 66) and USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN71) on 28 February, 1991, the day of the cease fire.  This postcard was sent from a doctor on board the America after the First Gulf War when the ship was in the Atlantic on its way to the Arctic.  Notice the (at least) two types of fighters, the AWACs, helicopters and other support planes on the deck of the America.

I can identify F-14s, F-18s, A-6s (probably Tanker versions & EA6s) S-10s, H64 & AWACs. The single, whitish colored aircraft with the twin tails is unfamiliar to me.

It is the Grumman C-2A Greyhound.  A COD or Carrier Onboard Delivery aircraft.

It is the same airframe as the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye, the Airborne Early Warning (AEW) aircraft, three of which you can see parked next to the island.

Though, the quadruple tail fins are always more easily IDed, not too many around... Smiley
