Located at Amersfoort near the Amersfoort zoo lays the Prins Bernhard Kazerne.
This is the home of the Dutch cavalry. It houses the National cavalry museum with a very good collection.
Upon entering the barracks to the right you find the monument for the Huzaren van Boreel regiment.
Its 4th eskadron was sent to the Dutch Indies to help restore order and Dutch government.
The eskadron was lead by colonel (retired) De Jong.
He wrote a fantastic book about his time in the Dutch Indies. Named: Mijn Ruiters, ISBN 978-90-813542-1-9
