Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Dear reader,

In the Netherlands we have a lot of veterans, dating back to world war 2.
Many people know the old men who fought in large scale conflicts from the 40, 50 and 60's, but these men are are slowly fading away.
But not the memory of the sacrifice these men and women brought for our safety and security, Dutch anual 4 and 5 may celebrations still remember those who fought for us.
How different all of that is for the last generations of veterans.
The current generation of veterans mostly saw action in peace keeping and peace enforcement missions instead of large scale conflicts.
A lot of them suffer from mental illnesses, the most common of them is PTSD or rather PTSI as M-Management refers to the I of injury instead of the D from Disorder.
There isnt much known about these missions anymore nor does people really care.
Most governments, NATO and the UN doesnt do much for these men.
In the Netherlands many veterans does not fit into the boundaries of the so called veterans affair law, nor are they helped by the veterans institute. (Because of that law)
Many have to rely on civilian healthcare which is often not suited for nor of its workers who are not (badly) trained to help veterans.
As a result men/ women get serious problems leading to divorce, alienation of society, severe health problems, or even suicide.
Therefore a veteran in the Netherlands, Jurgen Lars Meijer, set up M-Management, the M standing for military.
With the sole task to support veterans, their family and their loved ones, no matter if they are/ were professionals or drafted, fought missions or not. Everybody is welcome!
M-Management has its own website with a care compass.
M-Management is set up as a franchise, it is not set up to earn mony for profit. All money is used to pay bills first, all that remains goes to the veterans.
On this compas M-Managements volunteers gather data about any organisation be it health care, company or governmental aid and much more related to aid veterans.
To support this financially a viewer can buy a range of items, mugs, flags, t-shirts, banners and more. On each item you find the v- (veteran) or and an M for military. Each product therefore shows what the franchise stands for.
The money goes straight into the organisation, allowing Jurgen to provide support for veterans in a broad way.
Recently M-Management started to seek for cooperation with German and canadian organisations, especially in Germany there is almost no organized care for veterans, and there to is a need for recognision!
M-Management is NOT funded by the government, therefore I kindly ask you to help/ support them.
If you want to give your hard earned cash to support veterans thats highly appreciated, if you belong to an organisation or a company that can provide anything to support veterans you are also welcome.
A donation can be send to WaTs Paypal account (see home page) Please add veterancare in the paymentdata.
Its possible to join M-management to for 15 Euro a year!

M-Management, compas can be found here: http://mmanagement.org/   (for international info please scroll down untill you see the Internationaal tab.

Hi there,

This is not a forum in the normal way, the site is used as a database.
The forum is there so members can discuss items (if they want to).
But mostly people download or copy articles from the site.
The forum is just an extra feature.

You are more than welcome to add anything though.

Regards

Mod.

Welcome Decade,

Only English is allowed (and yes I speak German)
I have some questions for you .
First, whats your intention, do you want to add a serious contribution or not?
Second, there is conflicting information from Honeypot, you are listed of being in the Netherlands but you say Carlstadt.
Also some suspicious data about your ip number.

Short explanation,
It was the intention when we started to fill the site with info about every war.
Unfortunately the guys who did the allied stuff quit.
My interest lays with armor and yes specially German armor.
Overall there is plenty of data to find here.

So its up to you.
Answer my questions and behave or leave please.

French police hunting a driver who rammed a car into a group of soldiers in Paris early Wednesday morning have shot, wounded and arrested a man on a highway north of the city.
A Lille policeman was injured by stray gunfire during the arrest.
The man, who was unarmed and hit with five bullets while attempting to evade police on the A16 motorway, is in a serious condition.
He was arrested between Boulogne-sur-Mer and Calais.

The suspect, born in 1980, reportedly drove his vehicle into a police car before being arrested.
Prime Minister Edouard Philippe confirmed that the person arrested is the same man who carried out the attack.
France's counter-terror unit is investigating the attack, in a suburb of northwest Paris, which left six soldiers injured, three seriously, according to Paris police.
The soldiers' injuries are not life-threatening.
Police had been searching for a BMW car and its driver who rammed into a group of soldiers outside a barracks at the Place de Verdun in Levallois-Perret around 8 a.m. local time.
Minister of the Interior Gerard Collomb said the attack was a "deliberate act."
"The car accelerated towards the soldiers for five meters in order to hit them," he told reporters. "We do not believe this could be an accident."
The mayor of Levallois-Perret, Patrick Balkany, told BFMTV that the car was "pre-positioned" in a small alleyway, waiting for troops from the 35th Infantry Regiment to come out of the building.
The group of soldiers is part of France's Operation Sentinel, set up in the aftermath of the Charlie Hebdo terror attack in January 2015.

Reuters, Paris,

French prosecutors launched a terrorism investigation after a man wielding a knife and shouting the Arabic phrase "Allahu Akbar" (God is great), tried to force his way in to the Eiffel Tower in Paris on Saturday night, a judicial source said.
The incident at the world-famous tourist landmark was designated a terrorism case because of the suspect's statements to police, in which he said he wanted to attack a soldier, and his apparent radicalization, the source said.
No one was injured in the incident that occurred around 11.30 p.m. (2130 GMT) on Saturday shortly before closing time, Eiffel Tower operator SETE said in a statement on Sunday.
The man, brandishing a knife, tried to force his way through a security check before being stopped, it said. Police evacuated the tower to carry out a check of the entire site.
A source close to the investigation said the suspect, a French national born in Mauritania in 1998, had been in a psychiatric hospital for several months and was granted permission to leave care from Aug. 4 to Aug. 6.
During police questioning, the man said he had wanted to carry out an attack against a soldier and had been in contact with a member of Islamic State who had encouraged him to act, the source said.
The suspect was convicted last December for defending acts of terrorism and for making death threats, the source said. He was given a four-month suspended sentence.
France has been under state of emergency legislation since November 2015 Islamist attacks in which 130 people were killed in and around Paris. Its interior minister said in a newspaper interview published on Sunday that the threat of militant attacks was "very high".
After pushing his way past a security guard at the entrance to the Eiffel Tower, the man approached soldiers patrolling at the site and, holding a blade, shouted 'Allahu Akbar', the source said.
But he complied when the soldiers told him to put down his weapon and offered no resistance when arrested, the source added.
Security forces have been targeted in several incidents this year, including two on the Champs-Elysees avenue and one outside Notre Dame Cathedral, also renowned tourist sites.
Militant attacks in France led to a drop in visitor numbers last year but activity has recovered in 2017.
