The Hague.

While festivals are being held to celebrate our freedom a man stabbed 3 people infront of a restaurant.
2 bystanders and a man on a bicycle, the wounded have been brought to a nearby hospital, none of them is in direct danger of dying.
While doing that the man (dressed in typical islamic clothing) shouted Allah Akhbar.....
However according to the police and the meir the 31 year old man (how surprising, a Syrian refugee) was only a mentally disturbed man.
Now where did we hear that before......

May 16,
New reports showed up with information that the police was warned about possible terrorist actions by the arrested man.
Nothing has been done with the report, a human error according to the justice department.
meanwhile everybody still speak about a "confused" man which has become a synonime for terrorist actions in the Netherlands.

It doesnt end.... another attack in paris.

This time caused by a Tjetsjenian aged 20 years aold.
Around 21.00 he drew a knife and stabbed at people randomly killing 1 and injuring 4, of whom 2 are in critical condition.
Many people hit the ground when police arrived afraid of getting caught in gunfire.
A policeofficer tried to take the man down with a taser, after that failed the attacker still wouldnt give up.
The police than shot him dead.
French president Macron reminded the French people about the good work of the French army against the terrorist threat and defending freedom.
"We will not stand down", he said.
The attack was claimed by DAESH.

Another bloody attack on our citizens, this time in Canada.

A man drove into pedestrians with a white van in northern Toronto on Monday, killing 10 and injuring 15.
Alek Minassian, 25, was not previously known to authorities, police said, adding that the incident appeared deliberate but no motive was clear.
Mr Minassian was arrested after a tense standoff with a police officer.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the incident a "senseless attack and a horrific tragedy".
The officer who arrested Mr Minassian was praised for not opening fire during a standoff with the suspect, who claimed to be armed and pointed an object at the officer.
Investigation is underway, police are looking for a motive.
So far any ties with islamic terrorism are lacking.
No terror organisation has claimed responsibility either.
46  War & Conflicts Discussions / Wars & Conflicts: Personalities & Aces / Gunnery sergeant R Lee Ermey on: 16 April 2018, 08:14:55
Today april 15 at the age of 74 Ermey died because of Pneumonia.

A quote from his manager:

Statement from R. Lee Ermey's long time manager, Bill Rogin:

It is with deep sadness that I regret to inform you all that R. Lee Ermey ("The Gunny") passed away this morning from complications of pneumonia. He will be greatly missed by all of us. It is a terrible loss that nobody was prepared for. He has meant so much to so many people. And, it is extremely difficult to truly quantify all of the great things this man has selflessly done for, and on behalf of, our many men and women in uniform. He has also contributed many iconic and indelible characters on film that will live on forever. Gunnery Sergeant Hartman of Full Metal Jacket fame was a hard and principled man. The real R. Lee Ermey was a family man, and a kind and gentle soul. He was generous to everyone around him.
And, he especially cared deeply for others in need.
There is a quote made famous in Full Metal Jacket. It's actually the Riflemen's Creed. "This is my rifle. There are many like it, but this one is mine."
There are many Gunny's, but this one was OURS. And, we will honor his memory with hope and kindness. Please support your men and women in uniform. That's what he wanted most of all.

Semper Fi, Gunny. Godspeed.

Police special forces units in Germany have arrested six men, one of whom was suspected of planning knife attacks at the Berlin half-marathon on Sunday.
German national newspaper Die Welt reports that the main suspect is said to have “planned to kill spectators and participants” and possessed two knives that had been specially sharpened on purpose.
Welt claims the main suspect was linked to Anis Amri, the Tunisian man suspected of hijacking a truck and deliberately driving into a crowd of people at a Berlin Christmas market in 2016.
Amri was shot dead in Italy on December 23, four days after the terror attack that killed 12 people and injured dozens of others.
Welt says the main suspect in the foiled Berlin half-marathon plot “wanted to avenge the death of Amri.”
The police confirmed the arrests to Welt, but no further details were provided.
The arrests were made just one day after Germany’s Interior Minister Horst Seehofer said the government intended to do the utmost to protect its citizens. Reuters quote Seehofer to have stressed that: “We have again experienced that… absolute security is unfortunately not possible.”
Seehofer made the comments in Münster, where a 48-year-old man steered his Volkswagen bus into a group of people on Saturday, injuring 20 and killing two. The man then shot himself dead.
He is not believed to be linked with IS.
Earlier in december 2017 there were arrests among friends of Anis.

Anti-Semitic slaying of 85-year-old prompts outcry in France

By Jeffrey Schaeffer and Sylvie Corbet,

Like many who survived Nazi horrors, Mireille Knoll embraced life, eating out and going to the theater despite limited means. Even as age and Parkinson’s disease took their toll, she delighted in receiving guests — until one of them allegedly stabbed the 85-year-old to death because she was Jewish.
The brutal killing in Paris last week has raised uncomfortable questions about resurgent anti-Semitism in France.
I thought I was going to die on the spot. I cried all the tears in my body and I thought of her. She didn’t deserve this,” her anguished son, Daniel Knoll, told The Associated Press Tuesday, near the Paris public housing project his mother called home for most of her life.
How can one do that to anybody? The police revealed she was stabbed 11 times.”

Mireille Knoll was killed Friday in her apartment, which was then set on fire. On Tuesday, prosecutors filed preliminary charges against two people for murder with anti-Semitic motives, including a neighbor Knoll hosted regularly, to lessen her loneliness.
View of the apartment door of Mireille Knoll, 85, who was was slain last week, in Paris, France, Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Police seals, hearts and a photo of her are pasted on her entry way. Knoll had been stabbed several times and her apartment set on fire. Two suspects have been given preliminary charges of murder with anti-Semitic motives over the death of an elderly Jewish woman, a French judicial official said Tuesday.
As Knoll’s family gathered in Paris to attend her funeral on Wednesday, horrified French leaders and activists called for people to take to the streets to protest racism.
Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo urged all Parisians to join a silent march in memory of Knoll on Wednesday, and politicians across the political spectrum pledged to attend. French President Emmanuel Macron tweeted his “absolute determination to fight against anti-Semitism.”
For Knoll’s family, the killing was a cruel coda to her long life.
At age 9, she fled Paris to escape a notorious World War II roundup of Paris Jews. French police herded some 13,000 people — including more than 4,000 children — into the Vel d’Hiv stadium in 1942 and shipped them to the Auschwitz death camp in Nazi-occupied Poland. Fewer than 100 survived.
A family member with Brazilian citizenship helped Knoll and other relatives escape Nazi-occupied territory for southern Europe and then Canada. She returned to France only after the end of the war.
Over the years her grandchildren and other French Jews moved to Israel, but Knoll stayed in her beloved Paris, living nearly her whole life in the modest apartment on Avenue Philippe Auguste.
There was nothing to steal. My mother was poor,” her son said. “Her credit card? She would have only been able to withdraw 100 euros. She had no money on her account.”
Authorities have not released the names of the two men in custody but have said the chief suspect is a 29-year-old with a past conviction who lived in the same building.
Daniel Knoll said the suspect had lived there since he was 7.
My mother had a thirst for knowledge and meeting new people and talking to them and that’s what killed her,” he said.
On Tuesday, a photo of Knoll hung on her door, surrounded by paper hearts and a police notice saying the apartment was the subject of a judicial inquiry.
On a gate outside the building in eastern Paris, neighbors hung up a tribute poster. Candles flickered next to piles of flowers in her honor.
Smoke residue from the fire still stained her apartment window.
Knoll’s granddaughter, Jessica, lashed out at the attackers who “burned all of our memories, burned my entire childhood that I experienced there, in photos, albums, souvenirs.”
Speaking Tuesday in Herzliya in central Israel, Jessica Knoll stroked a ring her grandmother gave her on her last visit to Paris, and remembered her irrepressible energy.
“She used to run faster than us,” she told the AP.
Daniel Knoll remembered his mother as talkative and vivacious. In a home video she could be seen raising a glass and declaring, “Lechaim!” — “to life!” in Hebrew.
When she could still walk, he said, “she was going to restaurants, to theaters, to cinemas to see movies. She likes so much to read, she likes life so much. All those people who know war, they like life, maybe more than these crazy people” who killed her.
Mireille Knoll’s husband was deported to Nazi concentration camps, and their wartime experiences colored their children’s lives.
Yet, despite a resurgence of anti-Semitic violence and vandalism in recent years, and anti-Israeli sentiment among many young French Muslims, Daniel Knoll said he didn’t feel targeted for being Jewish.
Granddaughter Jessica, however, warned that “today it is my grandmother and tomorrow it will be a grandmother, a grandchild, someone else’s father.”
Jessica Knoll, who emigrated to Israel as a child 20 years ago, urged the French to “stop making excuses and see reality for what it is.”
The French Jewish group CRIF compared Knoll’s killing to that of Sarah Halimi, 65, who was beaten and thrown from her balcony last April. That murder was reclassified as anti-Semitic last month. The suspect is in a psychiatric hospital.
France’s government presented a plan earlier this month to fight racism and anti-Semitism, focusing on social media and prevention in schools. It also wants to change French law to force internet platforms to detect and remove illegal content.
An annual national count of racist, anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim and anti-Christian acts — most involving threats — dipped in 2017 compared with the year before. But anti-Semitic violence increased by 26 percent, and criminal damage to Jewish places of worship and burial by 22 percent.

Federal investigators seem to be at a loss as to the motives of a man who attacked the front gate of Travis Air Force Base in Northern California on Wednesday.
According to the Los Angeles Times, 51-year-old Hafi Kazi drove a burning minivan stocked with propane and gas tanks into the front gates of the base, and investigators are still questioning as to why it happened and if anyone else had been involved.
We don’t have any nexus of terrorism at this point, now the question is, why,” he added. “Why was he there? What led him there? And we don’t know answers to that, quite frankly.”” said Sean Ragan, the special agent in charge of Sacramento’s FBI field office.
Ragan said Kazi was a permanent legal resident living in the U.S. since 1993 and that he had mainly lived in the Bay Area, though where he had most recently lived was still unknown.
It was around 7 p.m. when security personnel saw flames inside the fueled-up minivan after it had pushed through the front gates and proceeded to crash shortly thereafter.
An explosives ordnance disposal team along with investigators from the Air Force and FBI were quickly called to the scene after emergency responders found five propane tanks, three plastic one-gallon gas cans, numerous lighters, a gym bag stowed with personal items and three phones in the vehicle.
Though Kazi’s body had been severely burned from the explosion, coroners were eventually able to identify him, and investigators are now trying to glean any other information they can.
Agents on the case said they were pursuing several leads as they try to piece together the 51-year-old’s life, including searching for any religious or social affiliation that would drive him to such an action.
Do you believe the crash was a religiously motivated act of terrorism?
While speaking about the incident, Ragan publicly debunked the rumor of a “jihad” video reportedly found on Kazi’s phone, and insisted the FBI still has not yet reached a firm conclusion on the man’s life and whereabouts.
There is no evidence of religious affiliation,” Ragan stated. “As of right now, we know of no other associates.”
However, authorities have been in contact with a relative of Kazi’s in India, though no interview has been reported to have taken place.
Witnesses who saw the explosion admitted that it was unlike anything they’d seen, saying the black SUV was quickly engulfed in flames.
The car basically blew up,” said Kamren Hernandez, who had been at his family’s restaurant just a few feet from the main gates of the base. “It was nothing anymore.”
Hernandez’ father, Lamar, admitted that after the initial blast the flames just “kept exploding — boom boom. Kept on going.”
“He had something in there explosive,” Lamar added. “It sounded like the 4th of July. I’ve never heard anything like that — really loud.”
As for the citizens of the military base, which houses nearly 7,000 active military members, investigators stated that nothing points to another “attack” or threat to it or the surrounding communities.

Burden of Command,

A new title under development, but one with a new concept.
A game that emphasizes on command decisions.
Its based on company and platoonsized engagements.
The player will have to make decisions, like a real commander has to.
This means earning the trust of your men, though on the other hand you have to take decisions that effect their life and dead.
But also morale issues and making friends, how to maintain friendships or other emotions that can have positive or negative effects on the decisions you make and eventually the outcome of a battle.
Luke Hughes, the founder of the game has brought together a team of experienced and talented people.
Data specialists, (scenario)writers, people from the military (US and other NATO countries) and game enthusiasts/ grognards from other known titles like Combat Mission, Panzercommand and Tacops.
Among them this author who joined the team as a scenariowriter.

German police detained six Syrians suspected of planning an attack using weapons or explosives on behalf of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) militant group, prosecutors said.
Police detained the suspects aged between 20 and 28 during raids in the cities of Kassel, Hanover, Essen and Leipzig, the general prosecutor's office in Frankfurt said in a statement.
Some 500 police officers took part in the raids, during which eight apartments were searched.
Four of the suspects arrived in Germany in December 2014 and two arrived the following year. All six had applied for asylum.
The prosecutor's office did not say if their asylum applications had been approved.
Prosecutors said the six Syrians "are suspected of being members of the foreign terrorist organisation that calls itself Islamic State (IS)", using an alternative acronym for ISIS.
It is the second time this month that Syrians have been arrested on suspicion of planning militant violence, there target may have been the Essen x-mas market..
Earlier this month, a 19-year-old Syrian man was detained on suspicion of planning a bomb attack.
The arrest comes one month before the first anniversary of an attack in Berlin by a failed Tunisian asylum seeker who killed 12 people by ploughing a truck into a Christmas market.
Concrete blocks have been installed around Christmas markets at several central squares in the capital this year before the festive season opens in a couple of weeks..
