The Volkswagen Amarok,

First deliveries have taken place off this vehicle to 11 airmobilebrigade.
This vehicle will replace many of the MB290's from various units.
The vehicle is intended only for peacetime use transporting soldiers.
The army made a deal for assistence of commercial dealers, therefore it doesnt need mechanics in army units anymore.
Volkswagen has been named in a fraude case for the delivery of policecars and with this deal evidence exists not everything has gone according to the rules.
The car is a normal civilian version with a 103kw TDI engine. The army version has extras such as weaponmounts, a radio mount and hooks for air transport.
In total the army ordered 1667 units.

Amarok with its predecessor the MB290cdi.
