When ICBMs were tested, they were filmed as well as kept in contact via transmission of data.  This postcard shows a man on a special camera for tracking ICBMs in flight.
Data collected helped make better missiles(!) but also verified treaty compliance by confirming weight, design, trajectories and many other data.
I find it especially interesting that even this type of subject matter made it onto a postcard.
