Did you ever wonder what happens when an atomic bomb explodes?  Well, the St. Paul Civil Defense Board wanted you to know!

I love the graphics in this pamplet.  These sorts of booklets were published throughout the US in every major city in the 1950s and 1960s.  There were very detailed, if untested, plans in place to survive a nuclear attack from the USSR.

The training from these types of booklets was taught to us on a daily basis in school, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It was very strange and stressful, to go to school every day, not knowing if you would ever see you parents again. I was in 6th grade at the time, 11 years old.
