Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. From the vid as is, NO from my POV.

Any more details on where and when it was shot? It looks like the pilot had 6 emy splashs, so in conjunction with time and place there might be an educated guess possible. Asking SPIEGEL might e the easier way to go, they usually have their stuff down tight. I could try and do this part.

That aircraft belonged to JG54 the Greenhearts.

See here:

Here are the Group and Staff markings for JG54:

As to the actual pilot you have nowhere near enough to go on in that short clip.

If you have a date that would help. A strip of film that's less than a minute long isn't of much help by itself.

Good Hunting.

The real problem is that they never show the aircraft's complete markings. Even then you may never be able to identify such an unknown. With only 6 kills to his credit he would be a virtual unknown in the Luftwaffe where there were aces at varying times with 100+, 200+ and 300+ kills.

Good Hunting.

At a guess I will say Werner Pichon-Kalau vom Hofe, the T.O. of JG54.

The film itself is credited to him and the aircraft they are working on carries his markings.
