For me its extra sad, I have worked with these marines during their training before their departure.
Its extra painfull because you know the guy behind the picture ;(

A very well trained and highly motivated company marines.
They were the first deadly casualties, in earlier fightings 7 marines from this taskforce were wounded.

Today another member of our armed forces died in Afghanistan, corporal 1st class Luc Janzen from 42nd armored infantry batallion based in Oirschot Netherlands.
He payed the highest price for freedom.
His QRF responded to a request from a French unit to clean up an IED site.
On the way back, 10 km from Deh Rawood, near the Tangivalley his vehicle hit another IED.
Together wih him a French captain Barek Deligny from 3rd regiment engineers and an Afghan soldier died.
4 Dutch soldiers were hurt, 2 badly.
All wounded are also from 42nd infantry, 1 man is from 12bn airmobile infantry Van Heutz.

Follow the link down if you would like to leave a message in the condoleance register.

It may sound trite, but these men are proof that sometimes the cost of freedom is very expensive. Rest in peace my brothers, we pray your sacrifice will not have been in vain.

Today I received this short movie.
Made me feel sad and I found a tear on my cheek, very emotional.
