Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. New Feature:  champ

While it was always possible to insert descriptive links into post or a signature field, the code was hard to remember and hardly anybody uses it and had to lookup the How-To.

Now using descriptive instead of ugly Links is easy, I added a small icon for inserting descriptive links to the right of the normal "Insert Hyperlink" icon to Post Box, Quick Reply Box and Signature Box BBCode icons:

Clicking on this Icon will insert the follwing tag combintion into the box in question, all you got to do is replace "someSite" with the target URL:

Code:
[url=http://someSite]yourText[/url]

All you do is highlight your typed text and click the icon, then add the site link (and delete the words "yourText").

Enjoy!

I posted one in the first post of this thread ("the How-To" is a descriptive link, insted of just writing - which is the same in meaning -  "the How-To: http://www.warandtactics.com/smf/wat-tech-info/how-to-insert-a-descriptive-link-into-a-post"), does that explain it?
