Welcome to War and Tactics!    War and Tactics Forum is currently undergoing some modifications that might disable features you are used to. This is unabvoidable as we have to update the forum engine to a new structure that is incompatible with many of the features we had used so far. The good news: WaT will be more secure and stable, and most of the features we uninstalled will be a natural part of the new structure anyway. For the rest we will be looking for solutions. Starting a new year and a new decade it's a good time to review one of the important facts on WaT: donating and donators.

I have waited almost a year before I started it up because I wanted to prove/show to our members that we're not just begging for money to have money.
I wanted to assure people that their gift is spent to a 'place' that is more then just 'one of the millions' boards. A 'place' that is more then a collection of data.
Before you ask 'money to grow' you must prove that the 'base' is healthy and stabile... and that WE are.

Without any favouritism I want to put the spotlights on FACman and Stoffel.

Jody, Henk, your donations are more then only gifts of money...they show us that you both believe in WaT at the present and that you want to invest in the future of it. (and a future we have!)

To show my appreciation I made this small picture which you can use as your signature, as always here on WaT it's NOT an obligation!

Thanks Koen, I guess Im guilty of putting my money where my mouth is...
Here in the US, the saying goes, "Put your money where your mouth is." Its a way to tell someone to back their position/bet with money. Also a way to shut up big mouths/braggarts.

not necessary for donating, you can use crdit card also (WaT has the paypal account to make it a safe transaction).

...just in case someone wonders why Chucks donation does no show (yet, hopefully, this is not in my hands):

- Chuck donated to WaT (the money is in the log and AFAIS also processed)
- The process log has it as "pending", i.e. scrutinized from echeck
- Because of the "pending" status the donation does not show yet

I have a hunch (as this has never happened before cannot be more than that) that it has to do with Chuck selecting USD as currency for his donation while the site is in Euros (and until now we did not have this situation: Even our US donators all spent Euros from their card) and that for this it takes longer to show the donation.

Anyway, from my POV a very much appreciated and valid action, I will do the bits that are due having to follow from my side.

If its the software code responsible for the not showing of Chucks donation in time, then I am very sorry for the slip up and will try to fix it as soon as possible (NOTE this might take some time as the code is awfully complex due to all the inbuilt security measures that you need when treating money on the net and I might need days to get the hang of it again after such o long time).

Just to keep you up to speed,

TA

today the bills have been payed for the following 12 months:

17.70€ for our domain name 'warandtactics.com'
103.37€ for the hosting, safety-matters, back-up and more of our forum

so another warm thank you to you donators who make this possible

we have found a trustable and supporting host who gives TA and myself a good feeling for the future of our WaT project.

Well, I paid the domain warandtactics.com today (18,15 Euros), but the server (106 Euros) I cannot take on me (simply don´t have them). If nobody pays the hosting fee it the server will be shut down, payment was due 26.10. and I then had negotiated a prolongation for both domain and server til NOV 7th with the hosting guys (and informed Koen).

Just FYI,
